The Prime Minister of Lithuania, Gintautas Paloukas, has revealed that the nation is deliberating the prospect of investing in the struggling airline, airBaltic. However, it's essential to clarify that the deal is not yet finalized.

According to the latest updates, airBaltic is contemplating state support and has delayed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) launch until 2026. The airline has been bolstering its revenue through Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) leases, most notably with the Lufthansa Group.
In April 2025, airBaltic reported a 12% increase in passengers and a 5% rise in flights compared to the previous year, demonstrating strong operational growth and sustained passenger demand.
