Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra has recently unveiled two new concepts, the Vision.T and Vision.SXT, showcasing their commitment to modern electrification and off-road capability. Among these, the Vision.SXT concept stands out as a distinctive pickup-style design that seamlessly blends SUV characteristics.

The Vision.SXT is built on Mahindra's modular NU_IQ platform, which supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains. The exterior design boasts sculpted wheel arches, off-road bumpers with silver skid plates, and flat surfaces reminiscent of the Vision T, but with a unique black rectangular grille, pixel-like projector headlamps with LED DRLs and indicators, and aggressive all-terrain wheels.

One of the key features of the Vision.SXT is its short, open rear deck with roll bars and a slim, see-through tailgate panel. This design element is complemented by dual spare tires mounted on the flatbed, giving the concept a rugged look. Practical exterior details such as exposed hinges, roof carrier hooks, bonnet latches, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles further emphasize its outdoorsy appeal.

Stepping inside the Vision SXT, you'll find a minimalistic yet tech-focused cabin. Durable materials, a free-standing digital instrument cluster, a large portrait touchscreen infotainment system, physical switchgear on the center console, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and a panoramic sunroof are some of the notable features. The user interface centres around Mahindra’s NU_UX software.

Safety and technology features in the Vision SXT include level 2 ADAS, 360-degree cameras, blind-spot monitoring, multiple airbags, and connectivity-focused elements like voice assistant and connected car functionality. The concept seats five passengers and aims to combine passenger comfort with a utilitarian lifestyle design.

In essence, the Mahindra Vision SXT successfully melds pickup ruggedness and SUV versatility with modern tech and connectivity. This concept previews a future model, likely launching post-2027, that promises to offer the benefits of modern electrification alongside its off-road capabilities and advanced safety systems.
