Major Construction Begins in Fischenich, Hürth for District Heating Expansion
From July 21 to August 12, 2025, a significant construction phase will commence in Fischenich, Hürth, focusing on the expansion of the district heating network. This project aims to secure a sustainable energy supply for more households in the future.
During this period, traffic on the street section Am Druvendriesch, from the Gennerstraße access road to house number 8a, will be impacted. The street will be fully closed to through traffic, with a detour set up for those needing to pass through the area. Local traffic will still be possible up to the construction site. The construction will take place on weekdays for eight hours each day.
Pedestrians and cyclists, however, will not be affected by these closures and can continue to use the route as usual. Access to the street Rebenfeld will only be possible via Platzstraße during the construction phase.
This construction phase is a crucial step towards a more environmentally friendly and future-proof energy supply in Hürth. While it may cause some temporary disruption to traffic, the long-term benefits for the local community are significant.
