Major Duisburg Logistics Raid: 23 Illegal Employment Cases, 8 Illegal Residents Found

Over 50 enforcement officers from the Federal Employment Agency's (FEA) inspection service (FKS) conducted a major operation in Duisburg's logistics sector on 30.09.2025. The inspections led to 23 proceedings due to suspected illegal employment and revealed several cases of illegal residence and unpaid social security contributions.

Upon arrival, workers attempted to hide from customs officers, indicating possible illegal activities. The FKS team, led by an unnamed inspector, checked employer registrations with social security, foreigner work permits, residence permits, minimum wage compliance, and exploitative working conditions. They interviewed over 40 people about their employment status.

The inspections uncovered eight workers illegally staying in Germany without the required residence permits. Additionally, further criminal proceedings and administrative offenses are suspected due to unpaid social security contributions. The FEA is now investigating these findings to ensure fair employment practices and protect workers' rights.

The FKS inspection in Duisburg's logistics sector has highlighted potential issues with illegal employment and residence status. The FEA is committed to addressing these concerns and ensuring compliance with German employment laws. The outcome of the ongoing investigations will be crucial in maintaining a fair and regulated work environment.
