Majority control in RoundShield Partners shifts to Harrison Street following new acquisition
Harrison Street Expands European Presence with Acquisition of RoundShield Partners
Harrison Street Asset Management, an investment management division of Colliers, has announced a significant move in the European market by acquiring a 60% majority stake in RoundShield Partners, a leading European credit investment manager. This strategic partnership aims to expand Harrison Street's European platform and enhance its credit, student housing, and hospitality capabilities.
RoundShield Partners, headquartered in Jersey with key offices in Geneva, London, Madrid, and Munich, specializes in asset-backed capital solutions across real estate, infrastructure, and financial assets. As of 2025, the firm manages an impressive $5.4 billion in assets under management (AUM), providing market-leading risk-adjusted returns to a diverse global investor base.
The acquisition allows Harrison Street to leverage RoundShield’s expertise and their vertically integrated student housing platforms to scale operations across Europe and offer a broader range of investment strategies to global investors. The deal involved acquiring the 60% equity from RoundShield’s management and a third-party investor, while RoundShield's senior management retains the remaining 40% and continues to lead the business.
The transaction strengthens Harrison Street’s European presence and complements its existing real asset investment strategies with RoundShield’s credit-focused expertise. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Lincoln International acted as financial advisor to RoundShield, while Sidley Austin and DLA Piper acted as legal advisors for RoundShield and Harrison Street respectively.
