Easter Benefits in Romania: A Breakdown of Employer Generosity
Majority of Romanian Employers to Provide Easter Bonuses According to eJobs Survey This Year
Looks like 2025 is turning out to be a generous Easter for many Romanian workers! According to eJobs Romania's latest survey, a whopping 65.6% of employers are ready to sweeten the deal for their employees this Easter season.
The survey reveals that the majority of these companies have earmarked the budget for cash bonuses, with vouchers and gift tickets coming in as the second most popular choice. Other favored perks include additional days off and holiday-themed gift baskets.
Ana Călugăru, eJobs' Head of Communications, drops some insightful numbers. She mentions that over 80% of employers typically offer some form of non-salary benefits to their employees, and the holiday season, particularly Easter and Christmas, often sees these employers rolling out special packages. While the Christmas bonuses usually have a heftier budget, the Easter benefits tend to be more modest.
So, how much can Romanian workers expect? Well, the survey shows that 57.1% of companies are planning to dish out Easter packages valued between RON 200 and 400 per employee. A significant 23.8% have budgeted between RON 400 and 600, while only 4.8% are splurging more than RON 1,000 per employee. A smidgen of employers (**4.8%) are keeping it casual with a budget between RON 100 and 200.
Interestingly, despite the economic uncertainty, around 14.3% of employers have decided to loosen their purse strings, increasing their holiday benefit budgets compared to last year.
Ana Călugăru points out that the stability in benefits, even in these cost-conscious times, is quite noticeable. She believes that employers recognize the significance of such perks in boosting employee satisfaction, a factor that's critical this year, as many companies may not be able to offer substantial salary increments.
Walking the talk, 72% of employers agree that these holiday benefits play a crucial role in maintaining employee well-being. However, a quarter of respondents feel these benefits don't hold much weight. Nevertheless, they concur that the absence of these benefits could lead to a grumpy workplace.
When queried about what benefits could set their company apart in the competitive labor market, 58.6% of employers clamor for additional salary payments for all employees, as in the 13th salary, followed by a four-day workweek (41.4%), benefits extending to family members (24.1%), and help with household expenses (17.2%).
Conducted between March and April 2025, the survey gathered responses from 80 employers.
So there you have it, Romanian workers! Whether it's the joy of an extra RON 300 (give or take) or the excitement of unwrapping a holiday gift basket, the Easter season is looking quite promising.
