Marchex, a leading call-based ad network, has acquired Jingle Networks in a deal worth $62 million in cash and stock. The acquisition aims to bolster Marchex's mobile voice search IP and market leadership, strengthen mobile partnerships, and boost call volume in the mobile channel.

Jingle Networks, previously the top player in the free directory assistance segment, brings significant value to the table. It operates the popular 800-Free-411 service and a pay-per-call mobile ad network. In 2011, the company generated an estimated $26 million in revenues.

Marchex, focusing on calls, has built an extensive call-based ad network spanning traditional media, online, and mobile. It serves national clients and small businesses through partnerships with heavyweights like Canada's Yellow Media/Yellow Pages Group, AT&T Interactive, and Skype. The acquisition of Jingle Networks will further expand Marchex's reach and capabilities in the mobile voice search arena.

The acquisition of Jingle Networks by Marchex, valued at $62 million, is expected to fortify Marchex's position in mobile voice search, enhance its mobile partnerships, and drive call volume in the mobile channel. Jingle Networks' established services and revenues will complement Marchex's existing offerings, creating synergies for both companies.
