Mercedes-Benz Unveils Ambitious Product Launch Program

Mercedes-Benz is gearing up for a significant shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) as the German automaker announces its biggest product launch program in history. The company plans to unveil around 30 new models between 2026 and 2027, with half of them being EVs [1][2][5].

Kicking off in 2026, the automaker is set to launch at least 18 new models, a mix of combustion engine, hybrid, and fully electric versions. Among the expected updates and new models are entry-level electric SUVs, likely EV versions of the GLA and GLB, aimed at urban drivers [1].

One of the highlights of the 2026 lineup is the fully electric C-Class, which may include a wagon version, boasting advanced range and performance [1][5]. The new electric GLC, set for its global debut in September 2026, will feature a bold new illuminated grille design with 942 light points, redefining the brand’s classic look [4].

In addition, Mercedes-Benz is introducing five new high-end electric models starting in 2026, likely updated EQS and EQE sedans and SUVs, featuring interior upgrades, extended range, and advanced driver assistance [5].

As for 2027, the company is looking to introduce six new combustion vehicles and six EVs in the high-end segment [3]. A new “core” electric vehicle built on a dedicated platform is expected to deepen Mercedes’ shift to electrification [1].

The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric, listed on the India website, suggests that the model may be coming to India soon. The new-generation CLA is expected to be one of the first models to be launched in India [3]. The CLA and CLA Shooting Brake will be released in 2026-27, available in both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric drivetrain options.

Meanwhile, the S-Class and EQS will receive updates, with the S-Class facelift set to undergo a comprehensive change. The Mercedes-Benz GLE, AMG EQS, S-Class, AMG E53, and G-Class are currently available for purchase.

In other news, Mercedes-Benz is working on a new V8 engine that should meet the latest emission norms and deliver more power. The brand is also planning to introduce two new entry models, likely the new-generation GLA and GLB, which will share their underpinnings with the new CLA.

The automaker is also planning a super SUV sharing the same underpinnings as the new electric super sedan, while a new electric super sedan, previewed as the GT XX Concept, is in development.

Finally, Mercedes-Benz plans to release four petrol/diesel cars in 2026 and five in 2027. The C-Class and GLC will receive mid-cycle facelifts, completing the brand’s ambitious product launch program.

The ambitious product launch program by Mercedes-Benz includes plans for new electric vehicles (EVs) in the automotive industry, with five high-end EV models scheduled to debut in 2026, and additional EV models expected in 2027. Furthermore, considering the company's focus on sustainability, it is also developing a new V8 engine in the finance sector that adheres to recent emission norms while still delivering increased power output.
