Minsk metro enters winter operation mode
The Minsk Metro is set to implement a revised winter operating schedule starting from August 25, 2025. This schedule adjusts the train intervals during peak hours to accommodate changes in passenger traffic.
In the updated schedule, the First (Red) and Third (Blue) Lines will see a reduction in train intervals during both morning and evening peak hours. During morning peak hours, trains will arrive every 2 minutes, while in the evening, the interval will be between 2 to 2.5 minutes. The Second (Green) Line, however, will maintain a 5-minute interval during both rush hours.
The morning rush hours are typically from 7:00 to 9:00 am, and the evening rush hours from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. On Fridays, the evening rush hours extend from 4:00 to 8:30 pm, with the train interval remaining at 2.5 minutes from 4:00 to 6:30 pm, and 2 minutes from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.
The Third Line will have a 5-minute interval during both morning and evening peak hours.
Other changes include the opening hours of Vestibule No. 1 of 'Kupalovskaya' station, which will be open for passenger reception from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. Stations on the Minsk Metro will be open for passenger reception from 5:30 am to 12:40 am.
Passengers planning transfers at 'Oktyabrskaya' - 'Kupalovskaya', 'Ploщаd Lenina' - 'Vokzal'naya', and 'Frunzenskaya' - 'Yubileynaya Ploshchad' stations are advised to arrive at the transfer hub on the penultimate train before the metro's closing time to ensure a smooth journey.
The Minsk Metro's winter operating schedule is set to commence from August 25, 2025. Passengers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new timings to make their commute more efficient.
