Mönchengladbach's REME Site to Transform with 300 New Homes and Kindergarten
Mönchengladbach's REME site in Lürrip is set for a significant transformation. The city development company EWMG and construction firm Anton Küpper Baumeister are leading the project, which aims to create around 300 housing units across three sections. Notably, the existing modular kindergarten will be replaced by a permanent building.
The new kindergarten, planned for the southern sub-area along Voigtshofer Allee, will have up to eight apartments on its upper floor. The building's facades and roofs will be designed to blend with the surrounding architecture. The entire planning area, approximately 3.2 hectares, is currently agricultural land.
The northern sub-area will feature single and double houses, each with a maximum of one full floor. An area between the two sub-areas has been reserved for potential school expansion. The project includes an open, landscaped front garden and permeable materials for driveways and parking spaces. Eleven street trees, hedge plantings, and a green strip with trees are also part of the plan. To manage water drainage, a new infiltration facility will be constructed on the site.
Several prominent companies are involved in the REME project. GOLDBECK, the general contractor for the Maria Hilf Terrassen parking garage project, is among them. Developers such as WILMA Immobilien and the DORNIEDEN Gruppe, known for their modern residential construction projects in the region, are also contributing to the development.
The REME site in Mönchengladbach-Lürrip is poised for significant growth, with a mix of residential and community spaces. The replacement of the modular kindergarten with a permanent building, along with the careful integration of green spaces and sustainable drainage solutions, promises a well-rounded development for the area.
