In the heart of Bavaria, preparations are underway for the 61st Munich Security Conference (MSC), scheduled to take place from February 14 to 16, 2025. The event, while its specific nature remains undisclosed, will attract a significant number of participants. To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the conference, as well as the general public, a comprehensive security plan has been put in place.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich, a key player in this plan, will focus its efforts on strategic locations such as the main, eastern, and Pasing stations, S-Bahn stations Karlsplatz (Stachus) and Marienplatz, and the S-Bahn trunk line. The Inspectorate's main station is located in Munich East Station, with additional office rooms in Pasing and Freising. Its headquarters for non-operational areas, including the criminal investigation service, is at Denisstraße 1, approximately 700 meters on foot from the main station.

The Federal Police Inspectorate Munich is also responsible for police danger prevention and criminal investigation in the area of Deutsche Bahn facilities and the largest German S-Bahn network, which spans over 440 kilometers of tracks with more than 210 stations and stops, covering the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. The Deutsche Bahn Security GmbH handles security prevention and criminal investigations within their facilities.

During the conference period, approximately 250 federal police officers, including dog handlers and super-recognizers, will be on duty from Friday morning. The main priority for the federal police operations manager, Senior Police Director Steffen Quaas, is ensuring the smooth arrival and departure of all travelers, especially conference participants.

Personnel support will be provided by police departments in Deggendorf and Bayreuth, as well as several Bavarian inspections. The police's primary objective is to ward off dangers to the train and its users and to act decisively in cases of criminal offenses and disturbances of public order.
