Nearing the launch of the Tai 7 SUV in the fourth quarter, BYD Fang Cheng Bao showcases its interior design.
BYD's Fang Cheng Bao Unveils New Tai 7 Hybrid SUV
Chinese automaker BYD's sub-brand, Fang Cheng Bao, has announced the upcoming launch of its new hybrid SUV, the Tai 7. The vehicle is set to hit the markets starting in September 2025, with deliveries commencing from then.
The Tai 7 is the second model in Fang Cheng Bao's Tai series, following the successful launch of the Tai 3. This hybrid SUV is designed to offer a blend of hardcore off-road capabilities and everyday family comfort, setting a new benchmark in the market.
The Tai 7 comes equipped with a 35.6-kWh battery pack for the four-wheel drive long-range version, offering a CLTC battery range of up to 180 kilometers. The standard two-wheel drive version sports a 26.6 kWh battery pack, providing a CLTC battery range of 135 kilometers. When fully fueled and charged, the Tai 7 boasts a combined range of over 1,300 kilometers.
The interior design of the Tai 7 adopts a softer overall style, contrasting with the rugged lines of the Bao 8 off-road SUV. The vehicle features a horizontal central screen, with a smaller instrument panel in front of the steering wheel. An additional screen is placed in front of the front passenger for added convenience.
The Tai 7 is also equipped with BYD's God's Eye smart driving system, ensuring a safe and enjoyable driving experience. An in-house developed tablet will also be integrated into the vehicle for enhanced connectivity and entertainment.
Fang Cheng Bao unveiled its new Tai series product line on December 10, 2024, and the first batch of Tai 7 production vehicles rolled off the production line on August 11. The Tai series is more oriented towards the family car market, while the Bao series focuses on the off-road vehicle market.
In addition to the Tai 7, Fang Cheng Bao is also set to debut its sedan lineup in late 2025. The Tai series is expected to include this sedan later this year. The exact launch date for the sedan is yet to be announced, but it is anticipated to debut in Q4 2025.
In July 2022, Fang Cheng Bao sold 14,180 vehicles, including 8,513 Tai 3 units, 4,102 Bao 5 units, and 1,565 Bao 8 units. The brand officially announced its existence on August 16, 2023.
With the launch of the Tai 7, Fang Cheng Bao continues to expand its product portfolio and strengthen its position in the automotive market. The Tai 7 will be available in three interior colours: gray, blue, and orange.
As the Tai 7 approaches its fourth-quarter launch, auto enthusiasts and families alike are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this versatile and comfortable hybrid SUV.
