Nissan Slashes Prices on Two SUV Models due to Difficult Market Conditions, Despite Ongoing Tariff Issues
Nissan Slashes Prices on Rogue and Pathfinder Crossovers
In a move to boost affordability for customers in a challenging car-buying landscape, Nissan has reduced the prices of its popular Rogue and Pathfinder crossovers by up to nearly $2,000.
The majority of Rogues sold in the U.S. are built at Nissan's plant in Tennessee, and these price cuts are exceptionally rare year over year, especially in the middle of a model year. The price reductions extend to various models, including FWD and AWD SV grades, SL, and Platinum trims.
One of the new additions, the Rogue Rock Creek trim, has been slashed by $1,930, bringing its price down to $33,490 before destination. This new trim for 2025 is aimed at buyers who want a more capable vehicle, featuring all-terrain tires, a tubular roof rack, and slightly more rugged styling.
The Pathfinder's SL and Platinum models have seen a price cut of $1,170, while the Pathfinder Rock Creek, which includes suspension changes for improved capability, has been reduced by $670 to $44,490.
Nissan is offering additional incentives for the Rogue Rock Creek, including 2.9% APR and $1,000 cash back. The Pathfinder Rock Creek, on the other hand, is now only $20 more expensive than the 2024 model.
Sales of the Nissan Rogue plunged 31.5% in the first quarter, but the new Nissan Kicks nearly doubled, and sales of the Nissan Altima increased by 25.3%. Sales of the Nissan Sentra sedan increased by 36.1% in the first quarter as well. The Nissan Pathfinder's first-quarter sales were nearly flat at 19,661 units.
Though the search results do not explicitly state Nissan’s official reasoning behind these price reductions, such pricing strategies are typically used to boost mid-year sales, clear out inventory, improve competitiveness, or respond to market demand fluctuations.
