North Kazakhstan Rectifies Business Tariffs, Boosts Investment

A recent investigation in North Kazakhstan region has uncovered and rectified issues with water and electricity supply tariffs for local businesses. The prosecutor's office and antimonopoly authority have intervened, leading to significant savings for enterprises and improved business conditions.

The prosecutor's office in Pavlodar city discovered that 20 regional enterprises were being overcharged for electricity. After their intervention, these businesses were granted discounted rates, reducing their expenses. Similarly, the antimonopoly authority notified grain-receiving enterprises in North Kazakhstan region to lower their tariffs.

The investigation also revealed that several enterprises, having invested over 400 billion tenge in the regional economy, were not receiving the discounted water rates they were entitled to. The monopoly was charging them at the general rate. Following the prosecutor's involvement, these companies were granted the discounted rates they deserved.

These corrective measures have had a positive impact on the region's business environment. Participants of the Free Economic Zone 'Pavlodar' have also benefited from the improved conditions, leading to increased investment in the area.
