Over 900 young residents of Magadan spent their summer unwinding in Snezhnoye Metaliste this year

In the heart of Magadan, Russia, 15 teenagers found themselves playing an essential role in the city's summer sports activities. These young individuals were employed at various institutions under the jurisdiction of the Magadan mayor's office's committee for physical culture, sports, and tourism.

The employment of these teenagers did not affect the total of 640 children treated at the SOK "Snezhny" facilities, an increase of 60 from the previous year. These round-the-clock health camps, where children aged 7 to 16 spent four 21-day shifts, continued to operate separately from the teenagers' employment.

The employment of the teenagers was not part of the sports and health camp held at the "Metallist" sports complex, which accommodated 270 children. This camp, however, did include daily child presence and was a part of the summer camps organised in 2025.

The employment of the teenagers was additional to the summer camps and did not involve school dining facilities during their 15-working-day shifts at the "Metallist" sports complex camp. Instead, they were provided with two meals at school dining facilities.

The camps were not limited to the "Snezhny" health camps or the "Metallist" sports complex. They also included specialised detachments like "Young Tourist" and other programmes such as "Patriot", "Spiritual Development", and "Sports Shift". The employment of the teenagers, however, was not related to these specific camps or detachments.

It is worth noting that the names of the youths supported by the Committee for Physical Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the Magadan City Council in difficult life situations through employment at the City Stadium, Russian Ski School, and the "Metallist" Sports Center were not provided.

This employment initiative not only provided these teenagers with a source of income but also contributed to the overall success of Magadan's summer sports activities, ensuring a positive impact on the city's youth.
