Over forty percent of employers in Chita keep tabs on their employees' activities on career-seeking platforms during work hours.
In today's competitive job market, the practice of monitoring employee resume updates has become a common strategy in high-competition industries. This trend is particularly prevalent in sectors such as logistics, industry, sales, and the IT sector, where over half of the companies engage in this practice.
For instance, in logistics, 30% of companies keep a close eye on their employees' resume updates, while in industry, the figure rises to 47%. In the IT sector, an impressive 6 out of 10 companies adopt this approach. The sales sector also follows suit, with 50% of companies monitoring their employees' resume updates.
The practice is less common in the service industry, where only 33% of companies engage in it. However, it's worth noting that in medicine, 30% of companies still monitor their employees' resume updates.
The size of the company seems to play a role in this practice. Among companies with fewer than 100 employees, 37% analyse their employees' digital footprint, while 53% of large enterprises do the same. Medium-sized businesses are more inclined, with 56% analysing their employees' digital footprint.
The city of Chita, Russia, also shows a significant interest in this practice. 44% of employers in Chita monitor their employees' activity on job search websites, with 34% having been doing so for a long time. Interestingly, 10% of companies in Chita have recently started monitoring employees' job search activity.
In the banking sector, 59% of companies monitor their employees' resume updates, indicating a high level of vigilance in this industry. In contrast, the HoReCa sector (Hotels, Restaurants, and Cafes) has the lowest rate, with only 28% of companies monitoring their employees' resume updates.
However, not all companies follow this practice. 47% of HR specialists reported that their organisations do not track their employees' resume updates. This suggests that while the trend is widespread, it is not universally adopted.
The German company Katlenburger Kellerei in Katlenburg, Germany, has emphasised increased activities around its job board ("Jobbörse"), supporting many companies in their search for employees. This initiative underscores the importance of employee retention and the ongoing pursuit of talent in today's competitive job market.
