What is the Paje, and what does it cover?
The Paje is a set of four benefits offered by the Caf or MSA that support families with the birth or adoption of a child:
- The birth grant or adoption grant
- The shared education allowance for the child (PreParE)
- The free choice of childcare supplement (CMG)

Who Qualifies for the Paje?
To receive the basic allowance, you must meet the following conditions:
- Have a child under the age of 3.
- Have household income below a specific ceiling, considering income from two years prior.

Applying for the Paje Allowance
To apply for the Paje allowance, gather these documents and submit them to the Caf or MSA:

- A copy of the birth certificate of the child
For MSA beneficiaries, the process is the same.
When Does the Paje Allowance Get Paid?
You can expect your Paje allowance from the month following your child's birth. The allowance is offered monthly for three years or until the child's third birthday.
Combining the Paje with Other Family Allowances
The Paje basic allowance can be combined with the daily presence parental allowance (AJPP) but not with:
- The family supplement
- A Paje basic allowance for another child under the age of 3
Complementary Benevolence Allowance for Disabled Children (AEEH)
The AEEH is an additional benefit for families with disabled children, providing further educational support.
Age Limits for the Paje
The basic allowance is payable until the month before the child's 3rd birthday, with exceptions for adopted children. If your child is adopted, the allowance continues until your child's 20th birthday. Only one child can receive the benefit per family, unless multiple births occur.
