Pension Reform: Correctional Facilities Now Manage Incarcerated Pensioners' Payments
A recent reform in the Criminal Executive Code has altered the way pensions are handled for incarcerated pensioners. Effective October 1st, full pensions will be paid directly to the correctional facilities where prisoners are serving their sentences.
Previously, pension payments were made to the prisoners' personal accounts. Now, the facilities will manage the funds, making necessary deductions for costs such as food, utilities, hygiene products, clothing, and footwear. This process has been happening in practice for some time, but the reform formalizes it.
Specialized items like protective gear and certain clothes are excluded from these deductions. The reform aims to streamline the process and ensure that prisoners' needs are met while they are incarcerated.
The pension reform, effective since October 1st, has changed the way pensions are managed for incarcerated pensioners. The correctional facilities now handle the payments, making deductions for necessary costs. This reform is expected to improve the efficiency of managing prisoners' financial affairs.
