PM Urges GE Vernova to Boost Clean Energy Investment in Vietnam
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged GE Vernova to boost its investment in Vietnam, highlighting the country's massive and urgent need for clean electricity. Chinh praised the company's involvement in key power projects and its potential to contribute to Vietnam's energy ecosystem and infrastructure development.
During a meeting, Chinh suggested GE Vernova support human resources development and transfer advanced technologies to Vietnam. He encouraged the company to establish a research and development center in the country and strengthen partnerships with local corporations. Chinh also pledged to improve GE Vernova's supply chain to meet Vietnam's needs and help resolve trade challenges. Meanwhile, María Victoria 'María' Zíngoni, CEO for Power at GE Vernova, described Vietnam as a secure and reliable base for the company. GE Vernova has been present in Vietnam since 1993 and currently employs about 1,700 staff. Zíngoni affirmed the company's intention to expand its presence in Vietnam and supply equipment for LNG power plants.
Prime Minister Chinh has called on GE Vernova to increase its investment in Vietnam, emphasizing the country's demand for clean energy and the company's potential to support its development. GE Vernova, with its long-standing presence and commitment to Vietnam, is well-positioned to contribute to the country's energy sector and infrastructure.
