Pyramidia Ventures Secures $1.5M to Boost Africa's Agri-Food Sector
Pyramidia Ventures, a Kenya-based startup, has secured a significant boost with a US$1.5 million investment. The funding, provided by Dutch impact investor Triple Jump, aims to strengthen Africa's agri-food systems and reduce their carbon footprint.
Founded in 2021 by Ruth Bertens and Joseph Rehmann, Pyramidia Ventures focuses on creating a pipeline of investable companies that tackle climate change and enhance food security. The recent funding, disbursed in 2022, comprises US$1.3 million for investments and US$200,000 for technical assistance and business development support, facilitated by the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF).
This injection of capital will enable Pyramidia Ventures to expand its model of building and scaling climate-focused startups. The company's mission aligns with the growing demand for sustainable and resilient agri-food systems across Africa.
With the US$1.5 million funding, Pyramidia Ventures is well-positioned to foster innovation and growth in Africa's agri-food sector. The investment from Triple Jump will support the company's goal of creating a more resilient and lower-carbon future for the continent's food systems.
