Quang Tri Unveils $232M Airport and 3 Mixed-Use Urban Areas for Tourism Boom
Quang Tri province has announced a series of ambitious projects aimed at boosting its urban and tourism development. These projects, including a $232 million airport and three large mixed-use urban areas, are set to transform the province into a premier destination. Sun Group, making its debut in Quang Tri, is leading these developments, which are expected to create a new cycle of growth for the locality.
The projects, totaling over 780 hectares, are strategically located near the sea, rivers, urban centers, and major transportation routes. This ensures convenient connectivity to essential services and attractions. The 212-ha Dong Hoi Central Mixed-Use Urban Area, designed by Bau Tro Lake, is a sustainable eco-urban development with over 60 hectares dedicated to green spaces. The 291-ha Le Ky River Western Mixed-Use Urban Area will be a vibrant riverside city hub, while the 276-hectare Nhat Le Coastal Mixed-Use Urban Area is inspired by the world-famous 'desert oases' of Dubai. These projects follow Quang Tri opening up a large space for development and positioning itself as an important connection point in the East-West and North-South economic corridors.
Tran Phong, chairman of the provincial People's Committee, praised these projects as a testament to the local authorities' efforts to attract investment and develop large-scale ventures. Dang Minh Truong, chairman of Sun Group, expressed that these projects will create a premise for Quang Tri to unlock its potential and develop tourism to spearhead the economic sector. Nearly 200 projects have already been registered in Quang Tri's Industrial Parks, demonstrating the province's commitment to economic growth.
Quang Tri province is set to begin work on a $232 million airport in 2026, further boosting its connectivity and development. The three mixed-use urban areas, totaling over 780 hectares, are expected to transform Quang Tri into a premier destination, recognized both nationally and internationally. These projects, led by Sun Group, are a significant step towards elevating Quang Tri's urban and tourism development.
