Railway Track Maintenance on Stauffenbergallee, Königsbrücker

Dresden, Germany - Residents and visitors in Dresden's northern district should be aware of upcoming transportation changes due to construction work on Stauffenbergallee and Königsbrücker Straße from August 1 to August 4, 2025.

The Dresden Transport Authority (DVB) has announced that tram lines 7 and 8 will be replaced by buses, labelled EV7 and EV8, following a detour route: Albertplatz – Stauffenbergallee – Infineon Süd – Klotzsche, Infineon. This change is due to the renewal of the substructure and tracks at the intersection of the two streets.

Line 64, on the other hand, will continue to run its usual schedule without specific detours related to this construction. However, left turns onto Stauffenbergallee will not be possible during the construction period. In the east, bus line 64 will only run from Striesen to Marienallee and will turn back there.

For car drivers, the outbound lane on Königsbrücker Straße will be closed, and a detour via Tannenstraße and Hans-Oster-Straße will be in place. The repair is estimated to cost around 115,000 euros and will be funded from the Dresden Transport Authority's maintenance budget.

Passengers with destinations on bus lines 72 and 77 can expect replacement buses to run as far as Infineon Nord. The Hans-Oster-Straße stop will not be served during the construction work.

For those wishing to reach the Waldschlößchen bridge or the highway, alternative routes are suggested. These include using either the route via Klotzsche and the airport access road or the Hansastraße to the Dresden-Nord on-ramp.

The weekend was chosen for the work due to the lower traffic volume during the summer holidays. The Dresden Transport Authority's website (http://www.dvb.de) provides more information about the construction work.

In addition, tram line 47 will run as a shuttle between Hellerau and Weixdorf, picking up passengers from the replacement service at Infineon Süd. Line 7 will only run as far as Albertplatz from the city center and will turn back at Neustadt station on Eisenbahnstraße. Between Albertplatz and Infineon Süd, a replacement bus service (EV 7/8) will operate for both lines.

During the construction, only the inbound lane on Königsbrücker Straße will be open to traffic. Tannenstraße and Hans-Oster-Straße will temporarily become one-way streets in the direction of Stauffenbergallee. The detour (Tannenstraße) will lead to the eastern section of Stauffenbergallee.

The DVB advises car drivers to avoid the intersection as much as possible during the weekend. The track work involves a length of 22 meters at the intersection of Königsbrücker Straße and Stauffenbergallee. Previously used rails are being reused to minimize costs and effort.

This construction work is part of the event "Die Finals 2025" and ongoing summer construction adjustments. For the latest updates and additional information, please visit the Dresden Transport Authority's website.
