Ranked top cars in Russia during May
Going by the stats from analytical agency "Autostat", the Russian market saw quite a bit of action in May, with 12,1 thousand VAZ "sevens" finding new homes. The Lada-2114 hatchback took the second spot with 9.6 thousand units sold in April.
The top 10 list includes some familiar names: Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris, Ford Focus, Lada 2170, Lada 4x4, Toyota Corolla, Lada 2190, and Toyota Camry.
When it comes to used light vehicles, there was a 3.7% decrease in sales in May, with 491 thousand units finding new owners.
A notable occurrence in May was the popularity of the Chinese brand Chery among the residents of Krasnodar Territory, accounting for 15.6% of interest in new cars.
Previously, it was reported that in April, the average price of used cars not older than 15 years in the Krasnodar Territory dropped by 28 thousand rubles compared to the previous month, settling at 1.98 million rubles. Compared to March values, the average price of such a car in the region decreased by 1.4%.
Interestingly, Lada maintained the leading position in the new car sales market in Russia, with 25,552 cars sold, while the used light vehicle market saw a dip of 7.8% in May compared to the previous month. And as for the average price for used cars under 15 years old in Krasnodar Territory, it was approximately 1.46 million rubles.
