Redirected bus routes on Freyburger Straße pedestrian tunnel during construction: impacting lines 24, 97, and X1
In the heart of the city, construction works on Freyburger Straße are set to commence on August 25, 2025, and continue until late June 2026. This development will cause significant changes to several bus lines, including 24, 97, X1, and the additional line 24E.
During the construction period, the usual stops on Freyburger Straße for lines 24, 97, and X1 will be suspended. Instead, these lines will be diverted to bypass the construction area, leading to a temporary suspension of stops on Freyburger Straße. Passengers are advised to use alternative nearby stops or connecting services during this time.
To compensate for these disruptions, a new temporary line, 24E, will be introduced. This special line will cover part of the route impacted by the construction, aiming to maintain public transport access in the area.
Meanwhile, passengers using S-Bahnhof Silberhöhe will also be affected. The replacement bus stop for S-Bahnhof Silberhöhe is not at the original location but is situated in a narrow section behind the parking lot, near the corner of Wittenberger Straße. It's important to note that the bus stop at S-Bahnhof Silberhöhe (C/D) will also be suspended during construction works.
Passengers are encouraged to check updated schedules and stop locations for these lines during the construction period to ensure a smooth journey. With these changes, it's essential to plan ahead and allow extra travel time to accommodate any potential delays.
