Refreshing the "Golden" Yenisei Taiga Roadway: A Look at the Upgrading Process
Rewritten Article:
Work on restoring the vital infrastructure project of the road from Epishino to Severo-Yeniseisk in the Krasnoyarsk Krai has been completed, marking a significant stride for the region's industrial sector. This road is not only the sole connection between the regional center and the settlements in the Severo-Yeniseisk district but also facilitates a stable economic growth for our region.
From 135 to 144 kilometers along the road next to the settlement of Bryanka, work has been underway since 2023. The team has addressed potholes, established junctions, cleared kuyvets of shrubbery, restored shoulders, installed new barrier fences, and set up road signs. Most importantly, a fresh layer of chipseal has been laid.
Despite the winter conditions, work was carried out round-the-clock, as mentioned by DELA in KrUDoRe, thanks to the technology utilized in chipseal repair, which allows for construction at any time of the year. The commission has already inspected the completed 9-kilometer stretch, and the necessary documentation for its operation is being prepared. The total cost of the project amounts to 196.1 million rubles.
Andrey Zhuravlev, the head of the road management department, commented on the completion of this phase, praising the importance of this road to the region. He stressed that this road isn't just a lifeline for the remote settlements in the Severo-Yeniseisk district, but also an artery ensuring a steady expansion of the regional economy.
Annually, work continues to restore this road to Severo-Yeniseisk. According to KrUDoRe, between 2019 and 2024, approximately 70 kilometers of the Epishino-Severo-Yeniseisk road were repaired under the project "Safe, High-Quality Roads", while an additional 60 kilometers were refurbished using funds allocated for maintenance.
In this year alone, four sections with a total length of approximately 23 kilometers will be repaired under the new national project "Infrastructure for Life". This includes sections from 258 to 260 kilometers, 260 to 265, 266 to 273, and 273 to 278 kilometers. Moreover, around 10 kilometers of the road segment will be maintained.
The decision regarding the restoration of road segments through maintenance funds is made based on the current state of the road, according to KrUDoRe, making it difficult to provide specific figures.
Meanwhile, the regional road 04K-339 is also undergoing extensive renovation, starting from the bridge crossing over the Yenisei River near the high-plateau fortress and extending all the way to Epishino. Recently, the kransnoyarsk road workers handed over one of the most challenging and capital-intensive sections between the villages of Potapovo and Godorishche. On a 15.5-kilometer stretch, a portion of a mountain had to be removed to straighten the road, new bridges and drainage systems were built, and extensive earthwork was carried out.
Now, the second phase of updating the road alongside the Yenisei River is underway, covering the stretch from 42 to 57 kilometers. The funding for this section is considerable: 2.05 billion rubles, and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025.
Thus, work is progressing simultaneously on two roads along the right bank of the Yenisei River – towards and beyond Epishino. Traffic, as noted by KrUDoRe, is constantly growing, making these taiga corridors significantly valuable for both local inhabitants and the economy of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, as well as Russia as a whole.
