Renaming Harveys Lake Tahoe to Caesars Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe's Casinos Get a Spruce-Up: Caesars Takes Over Harveys
It's time to say goodbye to the old and welcome the new as Harveys Lake Tahoe, a legendary casino in Nevada, will officially be rebranded as "Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino."
Caesars Entertainment has made the announcement and plans to start the $160 million makeover on July 1, 2025. Interestingly, Harveys will remain open during the process, allowing guests to enjoy the transformation firsthand. The property will also adopt the Caesars Republic moniker from July 1 onwards, and bookings are already being accepted.
Here's a sneak peek at what you can expect! Caesars Entertainment's COO, Anthony Carano, recently shared some exciting details about the transformation:
If that wasn't enough, the on-site General Manager, Karie Hall, promised, "This transformation honors the storied history of Harveys, while introducing modern amenities and elevated experiences."
Marnell Cos. has been contracted to oversee the project, starting from the hotel lobby and moving on to the casino floor and hotel. Noteworthy changes include a complete re-imagination of the casino space, from carpeting, chairs, lighting, and game signage, to swanky spaces for high-limit gambling and World Series of Poker action.
The hotel's Mountain Tower will be rechristened the Remus Tower and will introduce butler service for select suites in both of the destination's hotel towers. The Harveys Tahoe Tower won't be left behind, taking on the name Romulus Tower and offering a refreshed look, despite having received renovations just two years ago.
In addition to these changes, the lobby bar will evolve into Cleo's Coffee & Cocktails, transforming into a high-end lounge at night. The Hell's Kitchen restaurant will expand, while a Lisa Vanderpump eatery, Wolf, is set to arrive.
Caesars Republic isn't exactly a foreign name for Caesars Entertainment. In fact, a Hilton Hotel with the same title opened in Scottsdale, Arizona, way back in 2023.
The massive rebranding and renovation efforts aren't exclusive to Caesars Republic. Across the street, Harrah's Lake Tahoe is undergoing a renovation of its own. Recently, a craft beer restaurant, Brew Brothers, opened its doors at Harrah's, and further technological advancements and property-wide improvements are underway.
Harveys Lake Tahoe has a unique place in law-enforcement history. In 1980, it was the site of an attempted shakedown by John Birges Sr., which ended with the FBI detonating an IED planted by the elder Birges, causing significant damage. Despite the disaster, Harveys was repaired and continues to operate to this day.
This is just the beginning of an exhilarating journey for Lake Tahoe's casinos. Buckle up and get ready for an unparalleled gaming and hospitality experience at Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe Hotel & Casino!
