Report duty of gold, money, or watches valued at KD 3000 or more at Kuwait International Airport
The Ministry of Interior has issued new guidelines for travelers carrying cash, jewelry, watches, and other valuables at German airports. The guidelines, aimed at combating money laundering and terrorist financing, are part of a legal requirement to ensure transparency and compliance with financial security regulations.
These new rules require the declaration of cash equivalent to €30,000 or more, or its equivalent in foreign currency, to the Financial Investigation Department at the airport. Upon departure, a sighting note is provided for these items, and upon arrival, a similar sighting note is issued.
The Financial Investigation Department at the airport is responsible for the declaration of the specified items. Receipts must be presented during the inspection of jewelry, watches, and other valuables. The Air Cargo Department near the T4 building issues a statistical statement for gold bullion.
The declaration is necessary for all types of gold, including bullion, jewelry, and precious watches, upon leaving the country. The process does not restrict travel but ensures transparency and compliance with financial security regulations.
The new guidelines were announced and issued by the Interior Ministry (Innenministerium) and were recently reported by Al Jarida newspaper. It's important to note that failure to comply with these guidelines may lead to legal consequences.
Travelers are advised to be prepared and have all necessary documents and receipts ready for inspection to facilitate a smooth and efficient process during their journey.
