Residents of Trans-Baikal region have ownership of approximately 385,000 motor vehicles
In a recent report by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, it has been revealed that the number of expensive passenger cars registered in Zabaykalsky Krai has seen an increase. This rise in vehicle registrations has led to a corresponding increase in the number of individual taxpayers subject to transport tax, with the total number standing at 242,080 people for 2024.
The total number of vehicles registered in the region stands at 385,380, including 384,100 land-based, 1,259 water-based, and 21 air-based vehicles. The number of heavy trucks with an engine power of more than 250 hp has increased by 373, while the number of motorboats registered has risen by 13. Interestingly, the number of snowmobiles registered in the region has increased by 34.
In response to this increase in vehicle registrations, the regional government has decided to provide increased transport tax benefits. The total amount of these benefits for 2024 is 22.5 million rubles, marking a 19.6% increase compared to 2023. This increase in benefits has also resulted in a 19.6% rise in the total transport tax for individual taxpayers, which now stands at 679.8 million rubles for 2024.
