"Restaurant Owner Laments Construction on Sebastião de Brito Avenue, BH: "'Land Consumption' Affecting Business"

Hey there! You been bothered by the never-ending construction on Avenida Sebastião de Brito in the Dona Clara neighborhood? We feel ya! The city's building a flyover and GasMig's setting up a natural gas network around here, and it's causing quite a ruckus (take a look at the video below)!
Our team from Super Notícia paid a visit to Restaurant Serenata, right smack in the heart of the chaos, to chat with businesswoman Adriana Rodrigues, 50, who's been dealing with all the dust and disruptions daily. She's fed up!
Adriana shared that her food storage area gets covered in red dust every day. Ain't nothing she can do about it, she's tried moving her buffet around, but it don't make no difference. The construction's also costing her financially, as some workers from the site used to dine there and ain't paid their bills yet. Besides the construction making it harder for customers to get to her joint, she's losing profits from those unpaid bills, and some old faithful customers stopped coming by too, complaining about the dust.
City Hall and GasMig tell us that they're doing their respective projects by the book, following accepted plans and studies for the location. No stopping these works for them, as they expect the entire project to wrap up by the end of this year.
GasMig also says their work aims to establish a natural gas network for the Dona Clara region. Work started in March 2025 and is set to finish in September of the same year.
Regarding those workers who didn't pay their bills at Adriana's joint, GasMig claims they weren't aware of the situation and that their contracted company is responsible for catering services. They promise to look into the matter and take action if the debt with the restaurant turns out to be true. GasMig confirms that they don't usually make service contracts, like catering, with contractors.
