Revised Hyundai Kona: Engine modifications and added features
Hyundai has announced the addition of a new trim level to its popular Kona SUV lineup - the Line X. This new model, set to debut in the 2026 model year, will sit at the top of the range, offering a host of premium features and upgrades.
The starting price for the Hyundai Kona Line X has been set at 37,200 euros, making it the most expensive Kona model in the lineup. This new top model is the result of the efforts of Hyundai Motor Company's product planning and development division, specifically the performance and design teams overseeing the N Line models.
The Kona Line X comes packed with a comprehensive assistance package that includes a 360° camera, blind spot warning, rear parking aid with emergency braking, and a cross-traffic alert. It also features LED headlights and turn signals as standard.
For those seeking even more comfort, the Line X can be optionally ordered with a glass sunroof, a black roof lacquer, and a comfort seat package. The interior of the Line X is fully equipped, boasting features that were previously reserved for the top model Prime, such as heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control.
The Kona Line X is available in both gasoline and hybrid versions, with the engines having been optimized to deliver more power across the board. The most powerful version of the Kona offers 180 PS (132 kW), while the entry-level model delivers 115 PS (85 kW).
Hyundai is also introducing the Line X as a new trim option alongside the sporty N Line. The Kona N Line, which starts at 31,600 euros, can be optionally equipped with an assistance package for an additional 1,150 euros. The Kona Prime, which starts at 33,300 euros, comes with a digital vehicle key (NFC) and optimized seats as standard.
For those on a tighter budget, the starting price for the standard Kona model has been set at 26,900 euros. The Kona models, as of September 2025, are available in four trims: Select (26,900 euros), Trend (30,100 euros), N Line (31,600 euros), and Prime (33,300 euros).
The Kona is receiving a model update for the 2026 model year, with both gasoline and hybrid versions set to benefit from the changes. The Hyundai Kona N Line X will be the new top model for the 2026 model year.
The Hyundai Kona Line X is only available in combination with one of the three most powerful engine options or the 138 PS (102 kW) strong hybrid. For those seeking a more luxurious driving experience, the Line X offers a compelling option in the Kona lineup.
