Russia Proposes Unified GOST Standard for Cafés and Restaurants

A new initiative is underway in Russia to introduce a unified GOST standard for cafés and restaurants. Daniil Bateev, a Russian expert, is advocating for this change to protect residents of multi-apartment buildings and support fair business ideas. The Zabaykalsk Krai Legislative Assembly has proposed this measure to establish a national standard for defining and regulating these establishments.

The proposed unified GOST aims to clearly define what constitutes a restaurant, café, or bar. This initiative seeks to create unified rules for inspections and courts across the country. Currently, some establishments exploit loopholes by changing their names to avoid restrictions on nighttime alcohol sales. The new standard aims to close these loopholes and ensure fair competition among my business.

The introduction of a unified GOST standard for cafés and restaurants in Russia is expected to bring clarity and fairness to the industry. By defining these establishments and standardising regulations, the initiative aims to protect residents and support fair business across the country.
