Significant Financial Allocation for Ship Transformations

The Dresden-based river cruise company, White Fleet, has announced plans to renovate two of its modern flagships, the MS "Countess Cosel" and the MS "August the Strong". The renovation of the MS "Countess Cosel" is set to begin in early January 2023, with the MS "August the Strong" following in winter 2024/25.

Externally, both salon ships will change to a black and white appearance, while internally, they will undergo a comprehensive redesign, receiving a more modern design and new furniture suited to their purpose. The cost for renovating each ship is 1.7 million euros.

The elaborate redesign of the ships will mainly take place at the Laubegast shipyard. Despite the impact of the low water levels in the summer of 2023, both ships will be prepared for the future and will remain usable in the long term.

The MS "Countess Cosel" is expected to be ready for deployment by May 1, 2024. The renovation of the MS "Countess Cosel" is expected to take around four months, with a similar timeline anticipated for the MS "August the Strong".

It's worth noting that the nine historical ships of the Dresden company will not be redesigned and will retain their historical charm.

While no detailed public information is available regarding the specifics of this project, it marks an exciting step forward for the White Fleet and the Elbe Valley's river cruise industry.

The redesign project for the White Fleet's ships isn't limited to the river cruise industry; it also includes investing in the automotive and technology sectors. The renovated MS "Countess Cosel" will incorporate modern finance systems for improved operational efficiency. Furthermore, the focus on transportation extends beyond river cruises, as advanced technology will be implemented in the MS "August the Strong" to enhance navigation and passenger comfort.
