Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre Join Forces Again for New Album titled "Missionary"

Grammy-winning music producer Dr. Dre has been by Snoop Dogg's side since the commencement of the rapper's career over three decades ago. Snoop's 1993 debut album Doggystyle quickly made him a household name due to the chart-topping single “Gin and Juice” and other hits produced by Dr. Dre. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the album, the two primary performers of the Super Bowl halftime show have collaborated once more on the new album Missionary.

Missionary is the twentieth studio album in Snoop Dogg's illustrious career, and the iconic album represents the rapper's triumph as he relishes in the fame of his extensive empire – cooking with Martha Stewart or carrying the Olympic torch. While discussing teaming up with Dr. Dre once more for the album, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" artist mentioned that Dr. Dre was able to unveil a fresh artistic side within him at 53. "When you listen to what we have and how he's got me rapping, it's like a matured Snoop Dogg. There's some growth to him. It's the way he chooses his lyrics, it's the way he utilizes his voice," he said on the All the Smoke podcast back in January.

"[Dr. Dre] uses me like a damn machine and I love it because I love to be produced. I love to be tested. If I'm being produced, we're creating this craftsmanship together, and this stuff is exceptional because my voice is a component of your music. It is actually an instrument, as opposed to it just bobbing around the track. Use my voice like a damn instrument. Make me a part of the music," he added. He further mentioned that all his collaborations with Dr. Dre have been like this. "Every song you've ever heard from Dre and Snoop, my voice is never upfront; it's always infused because it's an instrument. That's what he's doing. He's using me as an instrument right now to create this first-rate album."

Throughout the album, the formidable duo features a diverse range of guest artists, such as Eminem, Method Man, and 50 Cent to Sting, Jelly Roll, and Jhené Aiko. Snoop's reconnection with Dre occurred because the producer recognized that the rapper's current music was not keeping pace with his wide-ranging fame in the entertainment world and other ventures. "Dre was watching me in the entertainment scene and figuring that my musical hand ain't matching my entertainment hand," Snoop told The Associated Press. "He wanted to put music back at the forefront for me with his production, leadership, and guidance on the project."

The collaboration on the album Missionary also includes renowned artists from different genres, such as Eminem and Sting, demonstrating Snoop Dogg's expansive connections within the broader entertainment industry, including Hollywood. Dr. Dre's production skills have also been instrumental in revealing a more matured and layered side of Snoop's musical talents, showcasing his ability to adapt and thrive in the ever-evolving world of entertainment, as prominent in Hollywood as in the music industry.
