Strengthening its public finance department, Orrick welcomes a new member.
In a significant move for global law firm Orrick, Jade Turner-Bond has rejoined the firm as a partner, bringing her extensive experience in public finance and infrastructure projects to the Los Angeles office. Turner-Bond's return marks a notable development in Orrick's public finance department, as she looks forward to working with her new colleagues to build on the firm's great platform in Southern California.
Turner-Bond's career trajectory has taken her from a contract attorney at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe right after graduating from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law in 2010, to legal counsel in the California Treasurer's Office, and then to a partner at Nixon Peabody. At Nixon Peabody, she specialized in the project and public finance practice, representing clients in the financing and refinancing of infrastructure and capital improvement projects. Her work covered a broad range of public finance transactions with issuers, underwriters, and sponsors, specializing in complex financing structures including letter-of-credit and liquidity-supported bonds, fixed and variable rate, tax-exempt and taxable bonds, and project finance matters.
Turner-Bond's work primarily focused on water and waste facilities, transportation, and social infrastructure. As a partner at Nixon Peabody, she was recognized as a natural leader trusted by California’s issuers and underwriters. Now, as a partner at Orrick, she will focus on public-private partnerships (P3), particularly in the social infrastructure sector.
Justin Cooper, another public finance group co-head at Orrick, considers Turner-Bond a practitioner of the highest quality, respected by clients, and a perfect fit for the team. Jenna Magan, the other public finance group co-head at Orrick, is equally excited to collaborate with Turner-Bond to meet growing demand from clients for innovative solutions at the intersection of P3 and public finance practice.
Turner-Bond's return to Orrick is significant, given her past and present roles in the firm. She expresses excitement about joining a team that is number one in the market, both in California and nationwide. Turner-Bond aims to advance the next generation of public-private partnerships by collaborating across Orrick’s public finance and other legal teams to better serve clients' evolving needs.
