Tata Power Mumbai Surpasses 40% Clean Energy Mark in Fiscal Year 2024-25, Asserting Green Authority
Mumbai, India - Tata Power Mumbai Distribution surpassed its clean energy targets during the financial year 2024-25 by supplying approximately 40% of its power from renewable and hydroelectric sources. A total of 2,389 million units (MUs) of clean energy were delivered to consumers, surpassing the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission's (MERC) mandated renewable power purchase obligation of 29.91% for the same period.
According to a statement issued by Tata Power on Tuesday, the company supplied 1,665 MUs of renewable energy and 724 MUs of hydroelectric power. This achievement marks a significant milestone in Mumbai's clean power adoption among urban utilities.
Furthermore, Tata Power recently crossed the 1.5 lakh mark for rooftop solar installations. The company aims to provide clean, sustainable power to 30 lakh homes in the next three years. As Mumbai aims for a low-carbon future, Tata Power intends to remain a frontrunner in enabling cleaner choices and shaping a resilient energy ecosystem for the city.
