TenneT's LanWin2 Offshore Grid Project Advances as First Steel Blocks Cut

TenneT's LanWin2 offshore grid connection project has taken a significant step forward. The first steel blocks have been cut and will soon be delivered to Dragados Offshore's yard in Algeciras, Spain, for integration and testing. This follows the signing of key contracts with Dragados and Siemens Energy, and Nexans for the project management.

The steel blocks for LanWin2 were cut at Dragados Offshore's facilities in Italy and the United Arab Emirates. Block construction has begun at these yards, indicating progress in the project management's timeline.

TenneT, a leading European energy company specializing in high-voltage and extra-high-voltage networks, has signed contracts with prominent industry players for project management. In April 2023, Dragados and Siemens Energy agreed to work together on three projects in Germany, including LanWin2. Then, in January 2025, Nexans was contracted to deliver onshore and offshore export cable systems for the same project management.

The delivery of the first steel blocks marks a crucial phase in the LanWin2 offshore grid connection project. With key contracts signed and construction underway, the project management is on track for completion. These developments highlight TenneT's commitment to advancing offshore grid connections and its collaboration with major industry partners for project management.
