Tesla, the leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has made some changes to the pricing and benefits of its premium electric cars, the Model S and Model X, in various regions.

In 2022, the prices of the Model S Dual Motor AWD and the Model X Dual Motor AWD saw significant increases. The Model S price rose by $5,000, going from $99,990 to $104,990, while the Model X price increased by $6,000, moving from $114,990 to $120,990. These adjustments were primarily implemented in March and June of 2022 in the United States.

Alongside these price changes, Tesla introduced additional benefits such as lifetime free Supercharging and free Full Self-Driving (FSD) transfer on certain inventory cars for the Model X. These benefits, while not explicitly stated as starting in 2022, reflect Tesla’s recent approach to adding value with price changes.

However, it's important to note that these benefits are only applicable to the first owner of the vehicles.

In Europe, Tesla has made some adjustments to the availability of the Model S and Model X. The Model X is no longer being produced in right-hand drive versions, which means it is not sold in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Thailand. Additionally, the Model X has been discontinued in some European countries.

In Germany, the normal all-wheel-drive version of the Model X now costs approximately 15% more, amounting to 114,900 euros. Similar price increases have been reported for the Model S and Model X in other European countries. The top Plaid version of the Model S now costs 119,900 euros, an increase of approximately 11%, while the Plaid version of the Model X costs 124,990 euros, an increase of nearly 11%.

Despite these price increases, there are no reported changes in the price of the Model S in North America at this time. However, Tesla did raise the price of the Model X overnight in North America, making it 5,000 dollars more expensive in the US and a similar amount in Canada.

Interestingly, Tesla has reintroduced free Supercharging for newly ordered Model S and Model X vehicles worldwide. This offer is only valid for the first owner of the vehicles.

As for the production capacity, Tesla stated in its latest quarterly report that it has the capability to produce 100,000 units per year for these models. In 2024, approximately 85,000 units of Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck were sold together. Tesla does not provide individual sales figures for the Model S and Model X.

On Friday morning, Tesla pages for Poland showed that neither the Model S nor the Model X could be reconfigured, with links leading to inventories containing no vehicles. This situation might suggest a temporary shortage or a change in availability in that region.

In summary, Tesla has implemented price increases for the Model S and Model X, particularly in 2022, while also offering additional benefits such as free Supercharging and FSD transfer on certain inventory purchases. These benefits are only valid for the first owner of the vehicles. Additionally, Tesla has made adjustments to the availability of the Model S and Model X in certain regions.
