To allow for the renewal of its water supply, the canal requires replenishment.
Heads up, folks! The storm and sewage water canal tunnel under Berghäuschensweg, Neuss, is about to get a major makeover starting January 2023 and lasting until the end of March 2024. This ambitious project aims to upgrade the water management system, boosting its drainage capacity and bolstering environmental compliance for long-term resilience.
Can't drive to Artur-Platz-Weg from Berghäuschensweg – sorry, that access will be closed from 8th January 2023 until around March 2024. But don't worry, the business centre car park can still be reached using the detour set up on Nixhütter Weg and Gnadentaler Allee – no need for closure. Weekly markets will go on as usual.
Motorized traffic navigating between the new construction site and existing construction site at Green Way's entrance will be guided around the worksite. As the cycle path isn't usable due to the required lane shift, cyclists are directed along with pedestrians via the existing pedestrian crossing on Artur-Platz-Weg.
Bus line 854 is getting rerouted via Nixhütter Weg and Berghäuschensweg during the renovation period. Stops "Im Oberfeld" and "Gnadentaler Allee" might not be served during construction. Temporary stops will be set up near Nixhütter Weg and Gnadentaler Allee, similar to the arrangements during Gnadentaler Schützenfest. Signage for detours is extensive.
