Traffic Alert: A40 Completely Obstructed
The A40 renewal project, managed by Autobahn GmbH, is set to improve the condition and safety of the A40. As part of this project, the road surface will be replaced on the A40.
Starting from August 26, the A40 will undergo a closure, with a planned reopening at 5 a.m. on the same day. During this period, specific detours have been set by Autobahn GmbH to ensure smooth traffic flow.
For the eastern part of A40 near Sainte-Geneviève-de-Berthierville and Saint-Cuthbert, the detour route is as follows:
- Divert via R-138 westbound
- Then R-158 westbound
- Then A-40 eastbound
- U-turn at exit 155 A-40
- Then A-40 westbound at exit 151
- Optional: continue A-40 east to exit 155 if desired
This detour accommodates the closure of the R-138 overpass and ensures traffic flow around the impacted area.
For the A40 renewal, the detour will take motorists via the A45, A2, A3, and back to the A40 at the Kaiserberg junction. This detour is intended to bypass the construction zone on the A40.
The A40 renewal project is part of Autobahn GmbH's ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade Germany's highway infrastructure. The detour will end at the Kaiserberg junction to rejoin the A40.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and check for any updates on the A40 renewal project. The planned reopening of the A40 is on Tuesday, August 26, at 5 a.m.
- The A40 renewal project, managed by Autobahn GmbH, extends beyond the road surface improvement on the A40, involving detours in both the eastern and western parts of the highway to ensure smooth traffic flow during construction.
- The automotive industry, finance, and transportation sectors may be indirectly impacted by the A40 renewal project, as motorists navigating construction zones might experience delays which could potentially affect their businesses or personal travel schedules.
