Tram track replacement works will commence on August 9 at Osharskaya.

In the heart of Nizhny Novgorod, a significant transformation is taking place. The city's transport infrastructure is undergoing an upgrade, with the focus on Osharskaya Street.

The work, which commenced on August 9, 2025, will extend from Republican Street to the exit onto Kuznechikhinskaya Street. This section of Osharskaya Street will see a change in traffic flow, with vehicles only able to travel in the direction of Belinsky Street due to the ongoing reconstruction works.

The project is part of a larger initiative to modernize public transport infrastructure in Nizhny Novgorod, aiming to enhance safety and efficiency. The specific section affected by this project is from Grebenshchikov Street to Kovaleva Street.

The primary objective of this project is the replacement of the existing tram tracks with new ones. This will improve the durability and ride comfort for passengers. The work will involve dismantling the old tracks, laying new rails, upgrading the track base, and restoring the road surface.

During the work, there will be temporary suspensions of the tram line on this segment, as well as partial or full lane closures on Osharskaya Street. This may cause traffic congestion, and it is recommended that drivers seek alternative routes to avoid delays.

The estimated duration of the project is about four months, with completion expected by early December 2025. The city looks forward to the successful completion of this project, marking a step forward in its mission to modernize public transport infrastructure.

The transit section of Osharskaya Street, from Republican Street to the exit onto Kuznechikhinskaya Street, is part of a larger urban development project to modernize the city's transportation and public-transit infrastructure in Nizhny Novgorod, specifically involving finance from the industry sector. During the ongoing four-month reconstruction works on this street, drivers are advised to seek alternative routes, considering the potential temporary suspensions of the tram line and traffic congestion.
