Spanish BlueSun takes the house cleaning reins - Fit Cleaning Products sold, a era comes to an end
transitions taking place - Corporations specializing in cleaning products up for acquisition
Get ready to raise your glasses for a new boss, germs beware! The Fit Cleaning Products company, your kitchen's best buddy and bathroom's most loyal soldier, has a new owner, the energetic and dynamic Spanish BlueSun Group. Say hello to the change, as Fit leaves its independent reign and embarks on a new journey.
The Spanish household product manufacturer BlueSun has snatched the Fit GmbH, ending the company's autonomy. Spoiler alert, the financial details of the deal are as scarce as clean dishware at a dorm party. However, the Fit GmbH will continue to fly as an independent bird under BlueSun's extensive group. Don't worry, the production site near Zittau, Saxony, and our beloved jobs will be staying put. Fit's powerhouse line-up includes fit dishwasher detergent, Kuschelweich, and Rei in the tube. Additionally, it generates the body care brands Gard, Fenjal, and MUM.
Word on the grapevine has it that our dear company CEO, Wolfgang Groß, has been on the hunt for a buyer for over a year. With BlueSun, the company now gets a chance to make a splash in the sunny shores of Southern Europe, France, and the Benelux countries. Groß aims to finalize the sale by the end of August. Close your eyes, and don't spill the tea, a new managing director will be assigned by then.
According to official records, Fit GmbH knocked in almost €377 million last year with just under 290 employees. Meanwhile, the Spanish household products manufacturer BlueSun tallied around €300 million with a team of approximately 500 employees.
Groß first got his hands on the company in 1993, courtesy of the Treuhandanstalt. Back in the day, before reunification, Fit's dishwasher detergent was like a permanent family member in every East German household. Casualty of the Cold War: production plummeted from 50,000 to a mere 9,000 tonnes between 1989 and 1991. Only 60 brave employees remained at the plant in Hirschfelde near Zittau.
Now, hold onto your brooms and mops! In the ever-evolving world of cleaning and hygiene products, this merger could lead to manufacturing efficiencies, faster innovation, and broader market access. But, it's also a recipe for strengthened competition, requiring strategic alignment, and careful consideration of regulatory hurdles. Buckle up, folks; it's gonna be a wild ride!
