TRUMPF Unveils AI-Powered Welding Solution for Electric Car Parts

TRUMPF, a leading German manufacturer, has unveiled a cutting-edge solution to enhance the quality and efficiency of welding processes. The system, called VisionLine Inspect, harnesses artificial intelligence to scrutinise weld seams and detect potential errors. It's particularly useful for precision components like batteries for electric cars and hairpins for electric motors.

At the heart of VisionLine Inspect is a unique integration of artificial intelligence-controlled quality inspection and optical coherence tomography (OCT) monitoring. The OCT technology keeps a close eye on the welding depth and laser focus position, preventing costly mistakes.

TRUMPF offers all components, including the beam source, sensors, and optics, from a single source. This all-in-one approach simplifies installation, service, and programming. Moreover, the programmable PFO 33 focusing optics can adjust the focus position of the laser independently, making it a cost-effective alternative to 3D mode.

TRUMPF's VisionLine Inspect is set to revolutionise welding processes, particularly for precision components. By combining AI quality control and OCT monitoring, it promises increased quality and efficiency. The all-in-one solution from TRUMPF ensures ease of use and cost savings.
