U.S. CENTCOM Launches Rapid Task Force for Swift Combat Capabilities
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has launched the Rapid Employment Joint Task Force (REJTF) to swiftly deliver advanced combat capabilities to its forces and allies. The task force, established following a counter-unmanned aerial systems exercise, aims to provide 'combat-credible capability' to warfighters in as little as 60 days.
The REJTF will retain operational authority for existing task forces, integrating and employing new capabilities. It will coordinate efforts among CENTCOM's existing service-component innovation task forces, including Task Forces 39, 59, 99, and 179. The task force will comprise experts in resourcing, assessments, information systems, data integration, acquisitions, logistics, and warfighter integration.
Tech diplomacy will play a key role, leveraging partnerships to provide scalable solutions for U.S. forces and regional allies. The REJTF directly supports Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's initiative on 'unleashing U.S. military drone dominance'. It will focus on capability, software, and tech diplomacy to achieve its goals, accelerating technology deployment and capability delivery rather than specifying staffing numbers.
The REJTF, with its focus on speed and agility, is set to revolutionize the way advanced combat capabilities are delivered to U.S. forces and allies. By integrating existing task forces and employing tech diplomacy, it aims to provide combat-ready solutions within 60 days, supporting the U.S. military's strategic objectives.
