UK DfT Funds HGV Decarbonisation Projects with £1m
The UK Department for Transport (DfT) has allocated over £1m from the HGV Market Readiness Fund. This funding aims to support collaboration among heavy goods vehicle (HGV) operators, manufacturers, financiers, and chargepoint operators in decarbonisation projects.
The fund is divided into two strands. The first, SME Fleet Analysis Support, is currently open until 9 December 2025. This strand focuses on assisting smaller HGV fleets in Scotland, providing them with expertise and guidance to navigate their decarbonisation pathways. As of the application deadline, no specific recipients were listed for this SME-focused strand.
The second strand, HGV Consortium Builder, closed in August. Eight consortia have been selected to receive funding under this strand, fostering collaboration among industry players to drive HGV decarbonisation.
The DfT's funding will facilitate connections and expertise sharing among HGV stakeholders, accelerating the transition to cleaner, greener heavy goods vehicles. The SME Fleet Analysis Support strand remains open, offering Scottish small fleet operators a chance to access vital decarbonisation support.
