Hindustan Unilever Announces New CEO as Rohit Jawa Steps Down
After more than three decades of service at Unilever, Rohit Jawa is set to step down as the Managing Director and CEO of Hindustan Unilever on July 31. His departure follows the appointment of Priya Nair as his successor, effective from August 1, 2025.
Priya Nair, who currently serves as the president of Unilever's beauty and wellbeing division, joined Hindustan Unilever in 1995 and has worked across various departments, including home care, beauty, wellbeing, and personal care businesses.
Nair's appointment as the first woman CEO of Hindustan Unilever was announced in 2025, marking a significant milestone for the company. However, as of July 2021, the CEO was not Priya Nair, but Rohit Jawa, who assumed the role later in 2023. Prior to Rohit Jawa, Sanjiv Mehta was CEO and MD up to 2023, and it can be inferred that he was the CEO in July 2021.
During his tenure at Hindustan Unilever, Rohit Jawa has made significant contributions to the company's growth and success. He joined the company in 1984 and has held several roles in sales and marketing.
As Nair takes over, she will lead Hindustan Unilever into a new era, bringing her extensive experience and expertise to drive the company's continued growth and success.
