Updated M7 sports utility vehicle from Aito, a company backed by Huawei, set for release in September
The Aito M7, a popular SUV from the joint venture between Huawei and Seres Group, is set to receive an update, with the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant expected to launch in September 2025.
Currently, the Aito M7 is available in eight versions, priced between RMB 249,800 ($34,740) and RMB 329,800. However, the updated model will offer both BEV and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants, launching simultaneously.
The updated Aito M7 will be larger than its predecessor, measuring 5,080 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. It will offer five-seat and six-seat seating layout options.
The BEV variants of the updated Aito M7 will be equipped with 100 kWh battery packs, offering a range exceeding 700 kilometers. On the other hand, the EREV variants will offer battery pack capacities of 37 kWh and 53 kWh, achieving a combined range of over 1,600 kilometers when fully charged and fueled.
One of the key features of the updated Aito M7 is the inclusion of Huawei's ADS 4 smart driving system. This system is equipped with various sensors, including a roof-mounted 192-channel LiDAR. The batteries for the updated Aito M7 will be supplied by CATL.
The Aito M7 was first launched on July 4, 2022, and the Aito M7 Pro series was introduced in August 2024. Last year, the Aito M8 EV received over 15,000 orders within 72 hours of going on pre-sales.
While the exact date in September for the official launch of the updated Aito M7 BEV SUV has not been specified, the launch announcement was made in August 2025, and the updated M7 is expected to debut alongside other new models in that month.
