Vehicle regulations in Villavicencio on Thursday, May 29th, as outlined by Pico and Placa.

In Villavicencio, the Mobility Secretariat has announced vehicle restrictions on May 29, 2023, under the Pico and Plate program. The measures aim to improve the city's environment, reduce traffic, and lower the risk of accidents.

According to the schedule, motorcycles are not affected, while private vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4 are subject to restrictions during the first time slot, ranging from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM, and the second slot from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Taxis are also regulated, with restrictions applicable to vehicles ending in 5, and freight transport is permitted without restrictions.

The Pico and Plate guidelines have been updated for the current year, and the program will be valid from January 17, 2023, until December 19, 2025. The restrictions depend on the day of the week and the last digit of the vehicle's license plate. For instance, on Thursdays, private vehicles ending in 3 and 4 are affected.

Taxi restrictions are different, with the vehicle circulation ban starting on Monday, January 20, proscribed for vehicles ending in 3, and progressing sequentially for the rest of the week, following a 0 to 9 sequence. Taxi drivers are subject to different application hours, from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

Vehicles exempt from the Pico and Plate restrictions include public collective transport, school routes, emergency services, security and surveillance, private security, law enforcement, military forces, and armored vehicles performing their duties.

Violations of the Pico and Plate program may result in an economic sanction, equivalent to 15 minimum wages, along with vehicle immobilization. Drivers are advised to check the local authorities or Villavicencio's official city websites for the most current traffic regulations in the city.

The international transportation industry should note that the Pico and Plate program in Villavicencio extends beyond private vehicles, also regulating freight transportation with no restrictions. On the other hand, within the local finance sector, it's crucial for taxi drivers to be aware of the varying restriction days based on the last digit of their vehicle's license plate, starting on Monday for those ending in 3, as the restrictions rotate sequentially for the rest of the week.
