Vietnam's Ha Tinh Approves $644M Wind Power Project
Ha Tinh province, Vietnam, has approved a significant wind power project with an investment of over $644 million. The 400MW Ky Anh wind power project, initially proposed in April 2025, is expected to commence operation in late 2028.
The project, approved by Vice Chairman Tran Bao Ha, will cover approximately 5,069 hectares across Ky Xuan, Ky Anh, and Ky Khang communes. It will consist of 47 turbines, each with a capacity ranging from 5 to 8.5 MW. The project is expected to operate for 50 years from the date of land and water surface allocation.
The investor, associated with the provincial authorities, plans to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2028. This project joins other large-scale wind power initiatives in the province, such as the HBRE Group project with an annual output of 350.357 GWh/year, and the Ky Anh DT2 wind power plant with a capacity of 49.5 MW. Another notable project is the Cam Xuyen 1 wind power plant with a nearshore capacity of 70 MW.
The bidding process to select investors for the 400MW Ky Anh wind power project is underway. With an approved investment of over $644 million, this project is set to contribute significantly to Ha Tinh province's renewable energy sector, joining other substantial wind power projects in the area.
