Vladivostok Energy College Building Partially Collapses, No Injuries Reported
A section of the Energy College building on Sakhalin Street in Vladivostok partially collapsed on October 3, 2025, during construction and installation work. Governor Oleg Kожемяко promptly arrived at the scene to oversee the situation. Rescue teams have begun clearing debris, and the educational process has been temporarily relocated to a neighbouring building.
The incident, which fortunately resulted in no injuries, has sparked a thorough investigation. The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Primorsky Krai has opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code, focusing on safety rule violations during construction. The regional prosecutor's office has also initiated a check on the common building, which was commissioned in 1972.
Heavy machinery is now involved in the operation to clear the debris. The MFC branch in the same building has temporarily suspended its work pending inspection. Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has ordered regular updates on the investigation's progress.
