Which Artists are Slated for the 'SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert' Performance?
It's a exciting time for "Saturday Night Live" fans as the iconic show celebrates its 50th anniversary this weekend! Kicking things off with some musical flair, several artists from the show's early days to the present will be performing at the "SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert" on Peacock.

In preparation for the big event, Netflix recently started streaming director Jason Reitman's film "Saturday Night," which revisits the 90 minutes before the initial airing of Saturday Night Live on Oct. 11, 1975. The movie creatively incorporates bits from some classic episodes of Saturday Night Live's early years, while staying true to the content of the first episode.[3]
Billy Preston, played by Jon Batiste, was featured as the show's first musical guest, performing his classic hit "Nothing from Nothing," followed by singer Janis Ian, who played "At Seventeen" and "In the Winter." In reality, both Preston and Ian were included in the first episode's musical lineup.[3]
